The UN Emergency Relief Coordinator is meeting with government officials in Chad to discuss ways of enhancing the humanitarian response for close to 100,000 Central African refugees.
During her visit, Valerie Amos is expected to draw attention on chronic food insecurity and malnutrition in the Sahel zone.
Sectarian violence between Christian and Muslim militias has plagued CAR since civil conflict began in March 2013, following the ousting of the President.
More than 350 000 Central Africans have taken refuge in neighbouring countries, mainly in Cameroon, Chad and the DR Congo.
