The economy of Gaza continues to be stifled by the Israeli blockade, according to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine (UNRWA).

Robert Turner, UNRWA's director of operations says about two-thirds of the population of Gaza are dependent on food assistance.

He points out that the people of Gaza don't want to be receiving handouts but are forced to do so because they simply don't have money to buy food.

Derrick Mbatha sat down with Mr. Turner who first described the humanitarian situation facing the people of Gaza.
