Syrians living in rural Aleppo are "eking out" an existence, according to the World Food Programme (WFP), as the civil war in the country continues.

Over a hundred thousand people have been killed and millions are in need of humanitarian assistance as a result of the ongoing conflict between government and rebel forces.

The people who remain in the Aleppo area are amongst the poorest and least able to flee.

Matthew Hollingsworth, the WFP Syria Country Director, has just been to the area.

Cristina Silveiro asked him what he had seen.
