Moderate malnutrition is associated with more deaths in children than severe malnutrition, because it affects a greater number of them.

That's according to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which is hosting a four-day symposium on moderate acute malnutrition in children from 26 to 29 May, at its headquarters in Vienna.

Nutritionists, health professionals, policymakers other partners will share experiences related to the implementation and evaluation of programmes on the issue.

Steve Thachet spoke to Cornelia Loechl, a nutrition specialist from the IAEA.
