Progress reported in reducing pregnancy-related deathsListen /
There has been a 45 per cent reduction in the number of women who die during pregnancy and childbirth but still more still needs to be done.
That's according to the latest updates on maternal mortality released by the World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday.
Approximately 289,000 women died in 2013 due to complications in pregnancy and childbirth, down from 523,000 in 1990, says WHO.
