Forced labour generates more than $150 billion in illicit profits a year, a new report by the International Labour Organization (ILO) has found.

Entitled the "Profits and poverty: the economics of forced labour", the study investigates the underlying factors that drive this criminal activity.

Women and girls forced into prostitution, migrants trapped in debt bondage, sweatshop workers and underpaid farm workers are some of the victims of this trade.

Jocelyne Sambira has the story.
