Equal rights and opportunities needed for children with disabilities

Barriers preventing children with disabilities from an education need to be removed, according to the United Nations education and cultural organization (UNESCO).

The organization estimates that 93 million children across the world live with some form of disability.

A "Global Action Week" organized by the Global Campaign for Education, a civil society movement dedicated to promoting the goal of education for all, has just drawn to a close.

UNESCO participated in the campaign by mobilizing partners and organizing activities in field offices around the world.

Stephanie Coutrix asked Florence Migeon, Programme Specialist at UNESCO, about the barriers people with disabilities encounter.
