Anxiety and fear is gripping Nigeria following bombings that claimed more than 100 lives in the central city of Jos on Tuesday, according to the United Nations.

The attack came as the country continues to grapple with the abduction of more than 200 school girls by the Boko Haram Islamist extremists in the northern city of Chibok in April.

Oluseyi Soremekun a UN Information Officer in the country said the organization has responded to these developments by developing a response plan to the crisis

Derrick Mbatha spoke to Mr. Soremekun on the line to the Nigerian capital, Abuja,  and first asked him about the bombing in Jos on Tuesday.
