Australian female peacekeeper inspired by father

A female peacekeeper from Australia and now based in South Sudan has said she was inspired to become a soldier by her father who was in the Australian army.

Lt. Sara Mooney is one of the few female peacekeepers in the newest African country working for the UN mission (UNMISS).

She said she is motivated to make a positive contribution every day and to create a safer and more secure South Sudan.

On International Day of UN Peacekeepers marked on 29 May, she's been talking to Regina Gorle.
