Agriculture crucial to long-term peace in South Sudan

A thriving agriculture sector is crucial to long-term peace and development in South Sudan, according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

Over one million people have been forced to flee their homes and leave agricultural land untended as the conflict between the government and rebel forces continues.

FAO is assisting the majority of those people, but it says much more help is needed.

Chaplain Nemaya has been speaking to Sue Lautze, the organization's chief in South Sudan.
