WHO issues first guidance for Hepatitis C treatment

New guidelines on how to screen, care for and treat people with Hepatitis C have been issued by the World Health Organization.

The publication of the recommendations comes after more effective and safer oral hepatitis medicines become available on the market.

Hepatitis C is most commonly transmitted through exposure to contaminated blood or infected injection equipment like needles.
