West Papua is more than 3000 kilometres from the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.
It’s not only difficult to reach, but for decades it’s been plagued by conflict, so it’s been a challenge to create economic opportunities here.
But thanks to a government project supported by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) fishermen in the country who have always lived hand-to-mouth are now improving their lives through seaweed.
