The execution of an Iranian woman has reportedly been postponed following the intervention of the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran.

Reyhaneh Jabbari was due to be executed on Tuesday for the alleged murder of a former employee of the Iranian Intelligence Ministry.

Ms Jabbari allegedly stabbed the intelligence officer in the shoulder in self-defence after he sexually forced himself upon her.

The case has raised a number of legal concerns.
