The UN Chief is due to make an appeal to countries to work together, reduce poverty, and meet the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015.

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is on Tuesday in Mexico attending the first meeting of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation.

The Global Partnership helps nations, businesses and organisations work better together to end poverty, within a forum for shared advice, shared learning and shared action.

He is expected to highlight the crucial contribution the Global Partnership has to make at this turning point in the pursuit of sustainable development.
