"Action for Disarmament: 10 Things You Can Do!"

Hollywood actor and UN Messenger of Peace, Michael Douglas, told a group of young people on Tuesday that they can play an important role in fighting weapons proliferation.

Mr Douglas was at UN Headquarters to support the launch of a book on disarmament, which shows young people what steps they can personally take to get involved.

Written for high school and early-college students, "Action for Disarmament: 10 Things You Can Do!" draws the attention of young people to the promotion of international peace and security through disarmament.

Michael Douglas said young people in every country have a critical role to play.

"This book is a call for action, to create a world where people of good will and instruments of peace prevail over weapons of war. This book can help you find a role that you can play in disarmament. So I encourage all of you to spread that message and be the new leaders of change."  (22″)

Some of the 10 actions include hosting film screenings, facilitating discussions and voicing concerns.
