Garment industry in Bangladesh Rana Plaza: Never again

A year after Bangladesh's deadliest industrial accident also known as the "Rana Plaza disaster", safety conditions for workers have improved.

On April 24, 2013, the Rana Plaza, an eight story garment factory, collapsed in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, killing more than 1,100 people- the majority of them women.

During the past year, the International Labour Organization, or ILO, has been working with the government of Bangladesh, employers and trade unions to address the root causes of the disaster.
