Listen /

A film which is helping to raise awareness about the dangers of racism and prejudice has been shown as part of the commemoration for the UN’s International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade, marked each year on the 25th of March.

The main actor in the film "Tey (Today)", Saul Williams, plays Satché, a Senegalese man returning to his country after years of living in the United States.

Jérôme Longué's interview with Williams, which features music and a scene from the movie, recounts what first drew the American actor to playing this Senegalese character.
