Conflict in Syria has devastating impact on children

The three-year conflict in Syria has had a devastating impact on the country's children, according to the latest report issued by the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) on Tuesday.

The report, entitled "Under Siege- the devastating impact on children of three years of conflict in Syria" says the conflict has caused immense damage to 5.5 million Syrian children.

It points out that up to one million children who are trapped in areas under siege or that are hard to reach with humanitarian assistance due to continued violence have been particularly badly affecrted.
