Celebrate "beauty" of nature on World Wildlife DayListen /
People around the world are being urged to celebrate the beauty and variety of the planet’s millions of plants and animals and to fight for the survival of some of our most charismatic species.
The call comes from John Scanlon, the Secretary-General of the CITES, the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species to mark the UN's World Wildlife Day on March 3.
He says the day also provides the opportunity for reflection on the very real threat of the illegal wildlife trade.
