Secretary-General shocked by reports of massacre in SyriaListen /
The UN Secretary-General has expressed shock at learning about reports of what he is calling "yet another massacre" in Syria.
A statement released by his spokesperson confirmed that "dozens of civilians" are said to have been brutally killed on 9 February in the Syrian village of Ma'an.
Ban Ki-moon condemned in the strongest terms all violence against civilians.
He called for the perpetrators of this massacre, and all other crimes in Syria, to be brought to justice.
Such horrific incidents should be a reminder to all of the urgency of ending the conflict, he added.
Syria has been at civil war for the last three years during which time more than 100,000 people have been killed.
Peace talks between the government and opposition forces in Geneva are yet to make significant progress,
Daniel Dickinson, United Nations.
