UN official condemns deadly car blast in BeirutListen /
The UN envoy in Lebanon has condemned a car bombing that killed and wounded civilians in the capital, Beirut, on Thursday.
Derek Plumbly, UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, expressed outrage that this was the fourth bomb exploded in Beirut's southern suburbs since July.
In a statement, he said "It is deeply distressing to have to condemn yet another appalling act of terrorism, the latest in the number which have killed and injured so many innocent people in this country."
The UN official stressed the importance of bringing to justice those responsible for the attack and all other such acts of terrorism.
