UN chief to address leaders of Caribbean and Latin American countries
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is expected to address a meeting of leaders of Latin American and Caribbean countries on Tuesday.
The second summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, CELAC is being held in the Cuban capital, Havana.
Secretary-General Ban, who arrived in Havana over the weekend, has been meeting with the country's leaders, including President Raul Castro.
UN Deputy Spokesperson, Farhan Haq has more on the Secretary-General engagements in Havana on Tuesday.
"The Secretary-General is scheduled to attend the opening of the second CELAC summit. CELAC is the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States. Later in the day he will address the summit and hold a number of bilateral meetings with visiting foreign leaders. He will also visit a medical school on Tuesday and meet the chief of civil defence." Mr Haq says the UN Secretary-General is scheduled to leave Cuba on Tuesday evening and fly to Germany.
