U.S. and Russia agree on peaceful resolution of Syrian conflictListen /
The top United States and Russian diplomats met with a senior UN representative in Paris on Monday as they continued preparations for peace talks to end the conflict in Syria.
The civil war has claimed over 100,000 lives and displaced millions of others.
United States Secretary of State, John Kerry said he and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov agree on a number of points on Syria, including that the crisis can only be resolved through negotiations.
The two diplomats were joined by Lakhdar Brahimi, the joint United Nations and Arab League envoy for Syria, in calls for the Syrian government and the opposition to take certain measures even before the talks.
