UNAIDs Protect the Goal

Sport can do more than governments to bring people together to promote peace and cooperation according to the grandson of former South African president, Nelson Mandela.

Ndaba Mandela who is a global ambassador for "Protect the Goal'' a UN campaign to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS, said that his grandfather had influenced his decision to engage in sports to advance development.

The UN's HIV and AIDS-focused agency, UNAIDS, estimates there are 4.6 million young people living with HIV.

Joseph Msami asked Ndaba Mandela why he became involved in the campaign which is being launched globally.
