• The UN mission in the DRCongo (MONUSCO) launched a surveillance unmanned/unarmed aerial vehicle (UAV)  on Tuesday. In a first move of its kind for MONUSCO, the pilotless aircraft was launched from the airport in Goma, the capital of North Kivu Province. MONUSCO Force Commander says the vehicle will increase the mission's capacity to gather information.

This year, the World Health Organization's campaign focused on improving access to prevention, treatment and care services for adolescents. In Botswana, young people use drama to sensitize their peers about the epidemic.

Burundi faces challenges as it prepares for 2015 general elections

• The UN Office in Burundi (BNUB) has called on political actors and parties to show restraint as the country debates its constitution. The call follows a major meeting to assess the implementation of a road map towards the 2015 general elections adopted early this year. The head of BNUB says participants agreed on the need for a more conducive political climate in the country ahead of the elections.
