UN nuclear agency and Iran sign cooperation agreementListen /
The UN atomic energy watchdog and Iran have signed an agreement aimed at strengthening dialogue and cooperation in relation to the country's nuclear programme.
The framework for cooperation signed on Monday by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Iran seeks to ensure the exclusively peaceful nature of the country's nuclear programme by resolving all outstanding issues.
A joint statement says the two parties will cooperate further on verification activities to be carried out by the IAEA, and that Iran will provide timely information on its nuclear facilities.
The UN agency also agreed to continue to take into account Iran's security concerns, including through the protection of confidential information.
