Stronger measures to enable women to participate in conflict resolution and recovery are to be put in place following the adoption of a new Security Council resolution this month.  As Jocelyne Sambira reports, Resolution 2122 puts in place a roadmap for a more systematic approach to the implementation of commitments on women, peace and security.

In Senegal, women are cooking up a revolution thanks to a World Bank-sponsored energy project which includes a locally made cook stove that's helping women to save money while also protecting the environment and promoting women's entrepreneurship.  James Martone of UN Television has the story of how Senegal's energy transformation is beginning in the home.

Fashion and fair trade may seem worlds apart, but the International Trade Centre (ITC) is bringing them together by connecting women artisans in countries like Kenya and Haiti with industry professionals in the west. ITC Executive Director Arancha González talks about the importance of empowering women and helping small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) in the developing world access global markets.
