Major studies that have been conducted around the world show that the air that people breathe is polluted with a mixture of cancer causing substances.

That was revealed by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in Geneva on Thursday.

The IARC, a specialized agency of the World Health Organization (WHO), has been meeting in French city of Lyons for the past few days.

According to the agency's projections, the number of cancer cases worldwide is expected to reach 25 million over the next 20 years.

Derrick Mbatha reports.
