Next week, the United Nations will hold the first ever high-level meeting on disability in New York.

Just a day before the start of the general debate in the General Assembly, heads of state will discuss how to include disability in the development agenda.

At that meeting on Monday, world leaders are expected to adopt a document that recognizes disability as an important human rights issue.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) there are one billion people with disabilities or one in seven people in the world has a disability.
