Scientists tackle impact of climate change on polar and mountainous ecosystems

Nowhere are the effects of climate change more visible than in the mountainous and polar regions.

Glaciers around the world are retreating and this is affecting water and soil resources for a large proportion of the world population.

In a meeting held recently at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), scientists discussed a proposal that will be used to improve understanding of the impact of climate change on fragile polar and mountainous ecosystems of the world.

The IAEA's Steve Thachet reports.
