A remarkable 52 per cent drop in new HIV infections among children and a combined 33 per cent decrease among adults and children since 2001 was the highlight of a new UNAIDS report.

As world leaders rally to review progress towards the Millennium Development Goals, Peter Ghys, the UNAIDS Chief of Data says many countries met the target of halting and reversing the HIV/AIDS.

He discusses the highlights of the 2013 UNAIDS Report on the global AIDS epidemic with UN Radio's Patrick Maigua in Geneva.
