UN Political Affairs chief in Cairo to "listen"Listen /
A senior United Nations official on Wednesday said he was in Egypt to listen to Egyptians to better understand how the Organization can assist the crisis-torn country.
UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Jeffrey Feltman, said he would then report his findings back to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
Arriving in Egypt on Tuesday, Feltman met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy and Arab League Secretary-General Nabil El-Araby.

“Mr. Feltman said that his discussions with Mr. El-Araby were focused on areas of collaboration between the United Nations and the League of Arab States. They also discussed efforts toward a political solution to the conflict in Syria, the Israeli-Palestinian peace process as well as the political process in Yemen and the role of the United Nations therein. ”
Mr. Feltman was speaking to the press in Cairo on Wednesday.
