UN agencies continue to support strife-torn Central African Republic

The Central African Republic, CAR, has been marked by decades of instability and fighting, according to the United Nations.

The situation took a turn for the worse in December of 2012 when rebels known as the Séléka coalition launched a series of attacks, which led to the President being forced to flee and the formation of a transitional government.
