Security incidents are frequent in Afghanistan: UN Security Chief

You cannot help but admire the commitment, dedication, bravery and professionalism of national and international staff members of the United Nations in Afghanistan, says the acting head of the Department of Safety and Security of the United Nations.

Kevin Kennedy spent several days in Afghanistan making an assessment of the security needs of UN staff and observing potential security threats to all those living and working in this country beset by incidents of conflict and insecurity.

He told UN Radio's Ben Malor that what he saw when he travelled outside the capital, Kabul, is that security incidents are frequent.
