Envoy hosts global interactive dialogue to kickoff Youth Day celebrationsListen /
During a forum earlier this year with youth from around the globe, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon asked the audience if the UN was doing enough for the world's 1.8 billion young people.
The answer: A resounding "No!"
Ahmad Alhendawi, the recently appointed Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Youth, is working hard to overturn this perception.
On Monday he will host approximately 1,000 young people from across the world in an interactive dialogue to kickoff activities marking International Youth Day, observed on 12 August.
Florencia Soto Niño of the UN News Centre asked the Special Envoy what are the main priorities of young people from all regions.
