On Malala Day, Gordon Brown lauds young advocate’s commitment to educationListen /
"What Malala has is belief in her cause which is that everyone should have opportunity and rights to education but also this incredible willpower that even an attempted assassination has never taken away from her". That's what Gordon Brown, UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Global Education and the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom said about Malala Yousafzai.
As Malala celebrates her 16th birthday on the 12th of July, hundreds of youth representatives from across the world will come together at the United Nations in support of the UN Secretary-General's Global Education First initiative.
Alex King sat down with Mr. Brown ahead of the event and discussed Malala's crusade.
