Elections in Mali have gone well, according to the Deputy Director of the Electoral Division (DPA).

Ali Diabacté is currently in Bamako on mission to support the efforts of UNDP, the United Nations Development Programme, and MINUSMA, the UN Stabilization Mission in Mali, in the electoral process.

Elections were peaceful, basically well-organized, with a turn-out which is the best since the democratization of this country and more voters in the south than in the north, but the participation was very good.

The elections took place on the 28th of July following the country's numerous crises since January 2012, including a military coup and an armed rebellion in the north of the country.
