Rwanda genocide fugitives will continue to be tracked

Listen /

Hassan Bubacar Jallow

Fugitives sought for the crimes they allegedly committed during the 1994 genocide in Rwanda will be tracked and arrested even after the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) has wrapped up its work.

This is the message that has come from Justice Hassan Bubacar Jallow, the Prosecutor of the ICTR and the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals (MICT) based in Arusha, Tanzania.

Justice Jallow says the ICTR has concluded the trial phase of its work and is currently focusing on the management of the appeals and on the legacy and closing issues.
