Hurricane season threatens Haiti

Following extreme weather shocks and poor harvests, over eight million people in Haiti are either severely food insecure or struggling to meet their own food needs on a regular basis.

In the following interview, World Food Programme Spokesperson Elisabeth Byrs explained to UN Radio's Patrick Maigua that WFP is pre-positioning food supplies in Haiti ahead of the storms, which can occur at any time during hurricane season, from June to November every year.
