Almost 1.5 million children in Malawi are in child labour, many toiling away in tobacco fields.
But attitudes are changing, and a programme backed by the International Labour Organization (ILO) has helped thousands of youngsters to escape child labour by providing them with an education or vocational training.
Reducing child labour and promoting education is part of the UN agency's Support to the National Action Plan (SNAP).
