A draft law on civil society organizations in Egypt could make it difficult for these groups to operate, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights warns.

In a statement on Wednesday, Navi Pillay says if the law is passed, it will mark a further blow to the hopes and ideals of the 2011 Egyptian Revolution.

Patrick Maigua in Geneva asked Human Rights spokesperson Rupert Colville about the role of civil society in Egypt, and what the proposed law could mean for the country's democratic aspirations.
