Cyclone Mahasen has been moving across the Indian Ocean, killing at least four people in Bangladesh earlier this week.

Kirsten Mildren of the UN humanitarian affairs office (OCHA) says they are concerned about thousands of people in Myanmar's Rakhine State who could be affected by the storm.

Asian countries assess progress on action plan against human trafficking

The global problem of human trafficking, which rakes in more than $30 billion a year, was the focus of a debate this week in the General Assembly.

Countries met to appraise an action plan signed three years ago aimed at putting a halt to this scourge which the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) describes as among the worst violations of human rights.
