Victims of slavery remembered through musicListen /
Jazz, rock and roll, hip-hop and reggae reverberated at the General Assembly Hall on the 22 March to observe the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
This day of remembrance gives us a chance, through music, to honour and celebrate the victims, the heroes, resisters and survivors for their brave and determined struggle.
Beng Poblete-Enriquez prepared excerpts from this concert where Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, Under-Secretary-General
for Communications and Public Information is the master of ceremonies.
