UNRWA food distribution reopensListen /
Food distribution installations reopened in Gaza on Tuesday, this after the UN agency assisting Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) received assurances from relevant parties that its staff will be working in a safe environment.
UNRWA suspended its operations on Thursday following demonstrations sparked by a lack of funding for its cash assistance programme to 10,000 families in Gaza.
UNRWA media adviser Adnan Abu-Hasna says although food distribution has resumed, the situation is still evolving. He tells UN Radio's Beng Poblete-Enriquez that the agency is still in the middle of intensive discussions to ensure the safety of its staff.
