UN Chief discusses Korean Peninsula developments with Chinese Foreign MinisterListen /

The Secretary-General and the Minister discussed recent developments on the Korean Peninsula and shared deep concern about the escalating tensions there.
The Secretary-General said he was committed to doing whatever he could to de-escalate tensions. He said he was confident that the Chinese leadership would also do its best to help calm the situation and help Pyongyang to reverse course.
On Thursday, the 11th of April, Ban Ki-Moon will call on President Barack Obama at the White House.
He will thank the President for the strong support the United States has provided to the United Nations and will discuss a broad range of pressing as well as longer-term global issues, according to the Secretary-General’s Spokesperson.
