The UN Secretary-General's Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict has welcomed the decision by the Group of 8 to pledge $36 million to tackle sexual violence.

Mr. Bangura spoke at the Lancaster House on Thursday where the forum of the world's eight wealthiest countries launched the G8 Declaration on Sexual Violence in Conflict.

She tells Gerry Adams there's no way to end sexual violence unless impunity is ended and the pledge will help countries to, among other things, strengthen political will and provide services for the victims.
