Singer Katy Perry supports UNICEF projects in Madagascar

Pop star Katy Perry is famous for her crazy concert outfits and catchy songs which have earned her millions of fans worldwide.

No doubt the American singer gained more new fans when she travelled to Madagascar earlier this month on behalf of the UN children's fund (UNICEF).

Her visit aimed to draw attention to child poverty in the island nation which is still recovering from a 2009 political crisis that has led to drastic cuts in public spending in areas such as health care and education.
