Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has condemned the unconstitutional seizure of power that took place in the Central African Republic (CAR) on 24 March 2013 and called for the swift restoration of constitutional order.

UN Radio's Patrick Maigua spoke to Amy Martin from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the country's capital, Bangui.

She says the security situation is unpredictable and non-essential UN staff and their families are being sent to Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, for safety.
