Syria allows WFP to expand operations in the country

The World Food Programme (WFP) has received permission from the Syrian Government to expand the number of local agencies it uses to deliver food to Syrians in need because of the on-going conflict.
At a press briefing in Geneva on Wednesday, WFP Executive Director Eartharin Cousin said Syria will now allow dozens of non-governmental organizations to assist in the food distribution effort.
