Progress made in fighting neglected tropical diseases: WHO

The World Health Organization (WHO) says there has been unprecedented progress against 17 neglected tropical diseases.
In its report on the diseases, the agency says the world is closer to the elimination of these conditions that take the greatest toll amongst the poor.
According to WHO, this progress is a result of a new global strategy, a regular supply of good quality cost effective medicines and support from global partners.
